This Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40, built in 1985 and designed by Philippe Briand, is a well-regarded offshore cruiser combining solid performance with spacious accommodation. She offers up to 11 berths across three cabins and the saloon, making her ideal for extended cruising or weekend use.
She benefits from standing and running rigging renewed in 2013, a new mainsail in 2020, a headsail from 2015, and a full cockpit enclosure. Navigation is via a suite of Raymarine instruments, including autopilot, depth, speed, and chart plotter. Propulsion is provided by a reliable Perkins 4018 50HP diesel engine with a shaft drive, with the cutlass bearing replaced in 2023.
The current owner has enjoyed the vessel for the last 14 years, and is now selling as they are retiring from sailing.

This Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40 offers a total of eleven berths across three cabins plus the saloon. The forward cabin features a double V-berth, complete with under-berth storage, side shelves and cupboard storage. The forepeak also offers an opening deck hatch overhead for ventilation and natural light.
The heads are on the port side located behind the forward cabin with a white sink set in a vanity unit, with pressurized hot and cold water with a shower attachment, a built-in shower tray, and a marine sea toilet.
Moving aft, the saloon consists of an off centre table with booth seating to the port side with under-seat storage. This booth area also becomes an occasional double berth. Opposite the booth seating area is a single settee with under seat storage, this settee also converts into a single berth with lee cloth. Located behind both seating area’s are single berths fold down berths with lee cloths that the current owner uses for storage.
The galley is located on the portside of the saloon and features a double stainless-steel sink with pressurized hot and cold water, a gimbaled Techimpex two-burner gas hob with oven and grill, a counter loading 12-volt fridge, and ample storage. This Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40 benefits from a 300-litre fresh water capacity, Hot water is supplied by a 6 litre Bester gas boiler, and radio/CD player in the saloon.
Located to the starboard side, opposite the galley, is a forward facing chart table with chart storage, vessel control and navigation aids such as a Clipper Navtec and Raymarine VHF. This area also includes 12v Sockets and a 12v to 240V converter.
Located at the stern of the saloon to both port and starboard are two double berth cabin with under-berth, hanging, and side shelf storage. The starboard side cabin also includes a manual marine head and wash basin. These cabin’s also benefits from a single opening portlight to the cockpit and non opening portlights allowing natural light and ventilation.
The companionway leads up to a large aft cockpit, with bench seating surrounding the binnacle. The cockpit also features Raymarine Navigation equipment including a ST60 Depth gauge, a wind direction which is currently not working, a speed log, Auto pilot, Remote VHF and engine controls. This vessel also benefits from a full cockpit enclosure.

This Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40 is a Bermudan sloop with a fractional rig, with an aluminium deckstep mast and boom with stainless steel rigging. The Standing and Running Rigging was replaced in 2013

This Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40 has a single 1985, 4-cylinder, 50HP Perkins 4018 diesel engine powering a shaft-driven two-bladed propeller. The cutlass bearing was replaced in 2023.
The engine was last serviced by the owner in 2024. The Perkins 4018 is supplied by a 150-litre capacity steel fuel tank. This yacht will cruise at approximately 6 knots and has an approximate maximum speed of 7 knots. The engine hours are unknown.
This vessel also benefits from a shaft power alternator to enable the batteries to be charged during long periods of sailing.

3 x 12-volt batteries (1 x engine, new in 2017 + 2 x Domestic batteries new in 2017) charging from the engine alternator and battery charger.
