2023 DFNDR 9 Remarks :
*** Part Exchange Considered ***

Awarded the 'adventure boat of the year 2023' at the annual motor boat awards, the XO DFNDR 9 is a truly multi purpose boat designed to allow for serious passage making in extreme comfort whilst also offering plenty of performance and fun on the water. She is an extremely solid boat with military grade aluminium used as her manufacturing platform along with a deep V hull. A state of the art design that is purposeful and flexible means you can adapt the boat to your needs. The quality of the fixtures and fittings are overwhelmingly apparent as soon as you step aboard and everything that you touch has a sturdy and robust feel to it.

'Genie' was built in 2023 but not handed over until June 2024. She has had just one owner from new and is sat at just over 100 hours. We highly encourage a viewing on this very well spec'd example that presents in fantastic condition and offers a considerable saving compared to a brand new example.

Owners remarks:

"We wanted a boat that would be suitable for days out plus an occasional stay overnight, that was safe and easy to handle with good walk round decks, that could get us where we wanted to go quickly and safely, and that would deal with the Solent chop without a fuss.

After around 100 engine hours of trips, and staying aboard both anchored (with the brilliant folding anchor), on a swinging mooring and in marinas, we're convinced the XO was a good choice.

We’ve had to use the wipers in earnest in metre seas with a F5 cross wind, but normally she’s a very dry boat and cuts through the chop smoothly, with the brilliant suspension seats soaking up the bumps.

I’m over 6 foot tall, so you do need to remember where to duck, but the use of space is fantastic. The front cabin berth is plenty long enough, the head is tight but perfectly usable, and the versatility of the pilot house/rear seating/table/sun pad is brilliant.

We opted not to get the official XO front deck cushions to save space, but we have some foldable cushions that we use when lounging on the front deck which, with the soft finish decking, is a lovely place to watch the world go by.

The visibility from the helm, both forward and to the sides through the fantastic sliding glass doors, is outstanding. When transitioning to planing, visibility is still very good, even without trim tabs – and she transitions so quickly, I don’t usually bother with the tabs.

The Mercury 225 engines seem to be a perfect match for the boat – great acceleration, very quiet, not straining at all at an economical cruise around 25-28 kts, but can give you 45 knots if you want it!

The boat looks like a serious piece of kit, with James Bond looks, and the performance lives up to the appearance – it's fast, it corners like it’s on rails, it's just lovely to drive.

Overall, we think what XO have achieved in a 9m boat is quite remarkable and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her."
