Polaris Manta HT from 1977 – Polyester Motorboat with Spacious Accommodation and Diesel Engine
The Polaris Manta HT is a motorboat measuring 8.60 meters in length and 3.20 meters in width, built in 1977. This boat is made of polyester and has an air draft of 2.50 meters, making it suitable for various inland waters, lakes, ponds, and rivers. With a draft of 0.75 meters, the boat can be used in shallower waters, increasing its navigational possibilities. The interior headroom is 1.90 meters, providing comfortable freedom of movement inside.
Layout and Accommodation
The Polaris Manta HT offers sleeping accommodation for a total of five people, with two fixed berths and three additional berths. This makes the boat suitable for families or small groups wishing to stay overnight on board. The interior space is equipped with a dining area, a stove, a refrigerator, and hot water, contributing to comfort during multi-day trips. Additionally, there is a manual toilet with direct discharge into open water. The boat also features a shower and hot air heating, making it possible to stay on board in different seasons.
Engine and Technical Specifications
The boat is equipped with an inboard diesel engine from the brand Peugeot, with a power of 62 hp. The engine has four cylinders and is electrically started. The engine is from the same year as the boat (1977) and has approximately 2200 operating hours. The fuel consumption is around 4 liters per hour, with a diesel tank of 120 liters. The cruising speed is around 15 km/h, making the boat suitable for leisurely trips on inland waters.
The steering is done via a wheel in the outside cockpit. The boat has a single rudder, which facilitates maneuvering, especially in harbors or when docking.
Electrical Installation and Equipment
The electrical installation consists of two batteries with a total capacity of 200 Ah, operating on 12V. The boat is equipped with a battery charger, alternator, inverter, voltmeter, and shore power connection. For safety, there is an electric bilge pump, and the cockpit is self-draining.
On deck, the boat is equipped with a manual anchor winch, an anchor with chain, fenders and lines, a swim platform, and a swim ladder. The cockpit tent provides shelter from sun and rain, and the pulpit and stern seats offer extra seating comfort on deck.
Maintenance and Condition
The boat was last taken out of the water for maintenance in 2023, during which an antifouling treatment was also performed. There are cracks in the gelcoat on the upper deck. No signs of osmosis have been detected.Â
Usage and Sailing Area
The current owner has used the boat for pleasure cruising on inland waters, lakes, ponds, and rivers. Thanks to its dimensions, air draft, and equipment, the Polaris Manta HT is suitable for recreational use in a wide range of sailing areas. The boat is not supplied with a trailer, and there is no dinghy present.
