Polar 770 spitgatter ready for boating fun
This 1987 Polar 770 spitgatter is an inviting GRP motorboat with a distinctive hard-chine hull and a practical layout for day trips, weekends away and holidays on inland waterways, lakes and also at sea. The boat is 7.70 metres long and 2.95 metres wide, with a draught of approx. 0.60 metres and an air draft of about 2.45 metres. Inside there is approx. 2.00 metres of headroom, which immediately adds to onboard comfort.

The Polar 770 being auctioned via BoatAuction comes with a package of equipment and documentation. There is a lot of paperwork available, including proof of purchase and maintenance documents. In 2020 she was last taken out of the water for maintenance and the antifouling treatment was also carried out. According to the owner, no signs of osmosis are known. The boat is in reasonable condition, making her an honest choice for buyers looking for a complete, ready-to-cruise base and who enjoy improving her step by step to their own taste.
What makes this Polar 770 so attractive for cruising?
She combines stable handling with notably generous storage space, something you especially notice on longer trips. The spitgatter lines give her a classic look, while the hard-chine hull helps her track well and move comfortably through the water. With fixed berths for three people and additional berths for another three, the Polar 770 is suitable for a family or for couples who like to take guests along. All cushions are present and the layout can be arranged so that you create two berths aft from the dinette and three in the forepeak. This makes her not only a motorboat for a day on the water, but also a true cabin cruiser for holidays.
How is onboard comfort arranged?
On board youâll find amenities that make staying aboard pleasant, even for longer periods. She features a dinette, mattresses, a refrigerator and a bio-ethanol cooker. There is a shower and an electric toilet, with the toilet discharge not going directly into open water. The water tank has a capacity of approx. 200 litres and there is a holding tank of approx. 30 litres. For cooler days there is hot-air heating and, in addition, an installed Webasto paraffin heater is mentioned, extending the season and making the interior quickly cosy. A particularly nice extra is the built-in vacuum cleanerâsomething youâll appreciate after a weekend with sand, wet jackets and plenty of foot traffic.
What engine and technical equipment does she have on board?
The boat is equipped with a 57 hp Volvo Penta diesel inboard engine with electric start. The engine is operational and the engineâs year of manufacture is 2020. In that same year, according to the owner, a fully reconditioned engine was installed. For monitoring there are, among other things, a fuel gauge and temperature gauge. Steering is via a wheel from the inside helm position, with a single rudder. This makes her suitable for comfortable cruising from the cabin, especially in changeable weather.
Electrically, she is set up for both 12V and 220V use. Shore power is available with a 25-metre cable, a battery charger, alternator, voltmeter and a solar panel. A powerful inverter is also mentioned (3000W built-in and additionally 3500W as a specification in the supplied equipment), which is interesting for those who like to use appliances on board when shore power is not available. There is also a Simarine battery control with touchscreen, helping you keep insight into energy consumption. An electric bilge pump and an extra-strong water pump are also part of the equipment.
What about navigation and safety?
For those specifically looking for a motorboat with a chartplotter and AIS, this Polar 770 is interesting. She is equipped with Raymarine navigation and a Navionics chart for Europe, supplemented with GPS, depth sounder, fishfinder, compass, log and VHF radio. AIS is also present (em-trak), contributing to situational awareness and visibility on busier waterways. On deck there is a lifebuoy and three life jackets are included.
Outside youâll find, among other things, a sprayhood, cockpit tent, cockpit table, exterior cushions, guardrails, teak deck, bathing platform and swim ladder. There is also an outdoor shower on the bathing platform, which is a real luxury detail after swimming or on a hot day. The anchor is present with chain and there is an electric windlass with remote control, making anchoring and retrieval comfortable.
This Polar 770 is located in Heemstede and is offered via BoatAuction. She is a complete spitgatter motorboat with plenty of living space, a strong set of navigation equipment and an inventory that invites you to start making plans right away for weekend trips and holiday routes.
