This Moody 33 Mk I Centre Cockpit, built in 1980, is ideal for coastal cruising or a cross-channel trip. It offers seven berths, in three cabins including the saloon with an approximate 6’2 ft headroom throughout.  This Moody 33 Mk I Centre Cockpit benefits from a Volvo MD2030 engine that was reconditioned in 2018, along with a 108 Litre fuel tank that was replaced in 2023.

This vessel benefits from 2021 navigational equipment, including Nasa Depth gauge, Nasa Speed/Log, Vesper Marine AIS Receiver, a Standard Horizon VHF, and a Raymarine autopilot.

Accommodation :

This Moody 33 MK I Centre Cockpit offers comfortable accommodation for seven across three cabins, including the saloon, with approximately 6’2” headroom throughout. A solid example of Moody’s renowned build quality, she combines practicality with classic design.

The forward cabin features a V-berth with infill to convert into a double, complemented by an opening deck hatch for ventilation. Ample storage is provided via shelving and under-berth lockers.

Situated between the fore cabin and saloon, the heads include an electric marine toilet, built-in shower tray, and storage to port.

The spacious saloon offers starboard-side booth seating around a central folding table, with additional storage both beneath and above. This area easily converts to a double berth, ideal for extended cruising.

Located to port, the well-equipped galley includes a two-burner gas cooker with oven and grill, a 12V refrigerator, with small freezer box and a stainless-steel sink with pressurised cold water – everything needed for onboard catering.

Aft to starboard is a quarter berth (requiring reupholstery) and the navigation station, which houses the VHF radio, Garmin GPS, and vessel control switches.

The centre cockpit is secure and comfortable, featuring three generous bench seats, a large starboard locker, binnacle with wheel steering, and engine controls.

This Moody 33 Mk I Centre Cockpit was built by Marine Projects (Plymouth) in 1980 to an Angus Primrose design. The vessel has a grey GRP hull, superstructure and decks with grey moulded non-slip deck surfaces, a Fin keel with a skeg-hung rudder and cockpit steering wheel along with a self-draining cockpit. This vessel was has a limited-service history, and the owner is currently arranging for the vessel to be lifted re-antifouled, and the engine serviced.

The owner has enjoyed the vessel for the last 3 years but is selling due to a change of circumstances.

This Moody 33 Mk I Centre Cockpit is a masthead, Bermudan sloop rig with a deck-stepped mast and boom with stainless steel standing rigging. The standing rigging and running rigging were inspected and the majority replaced 2021.

The vessel is equipped with a furling headsail with an in-mast furling mainsail. All lines are led aft via clutches to coach roof-mounted winches.

Fuel is supplied by a single 108-litre fuel tank that was replaced in 2023. The engine hours are unknown. This engine benefits from a reconditioning in 2018. The engine was last serviced in 2024, and the owner is currently arranging for the vessel to be serviced.

This yacht will achieve an approximate cruising speed of 6 knots and has a maximum speed of approximately 8 knots.

Electrical Systems:

This Vessel is equipped with two 12-volt batteries (1 x Engine, replaced in 2020 + 1 x Domestic, replaced in 2019). These batteries charge directly from the engine alternator and two 175-Watt and 1 x 50-Watt Solar panels.
