1973 Weymouth 34 Remarks :

Halmatic Weymouth 34 – Project Opportunity | Dover, Kent

A rare opportunity to acquire a classic Halmatic Weymouth 34, built in 1973 (Hull No. 4068) by the highly respected Halmatic yard. Known for their robust construction and seakeeping abilities, Weymouth 34s have long been favoured by serious cruising enthusiasts.

This particular vessel has been privately owned and used solely for pleasure, and we are advised that her original owners commissioned the fitting of a large belly fuel tank, specifically to allow for extended-range cruising, including a passage as far as Gibraltar—a clear testament to the confidence placed in her design and capability.

Due to a prolonged period of owner's ill health, the boat has received limited recent attention and now presents as a project, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced buyer to restore and recommission a proven offshore cruiser to their own specification.

The vessel is being sold by the Executors of the owner’s estate and is offered “as is, where is” by sealed bid, with offers invited over £1,250. Full conditions of sale and the sealed bid submission form are available upon request.

Sealed bids must be received by 12:00 BST on Thursday, 29 January 2026.

Accommodation :

 Accommodation

Step aboard this classic 1973 Weymouth 34 and discover a well-laid-out interior designed for comfortable cruising. The saloon features seating four, with a traditional timber finish that reflects the quality craftsmanship of the era. Forward, a cosy V-berth cabin provides sleeping accommodation for two, while the aft area offers additional berths or flexible storage, making her suitable for family or extended cruising.

The galley is equipped with a functional layout, including a stove, sink, and ample storage for provisions, allowing for easy meal preparation while underway. The head compartment is compact yet practical, with a marine toilet and washbasin, serving the needs of the crew and guests efficiently.

With a classic layout that balances comfort and practicality, the Weymouth 34 offers a warm, inviting interior ready to be refreshed or restored, ideal for those looking to bring a piece of boating history back to life.

If you like, I can also condense this to a punchy 460-character version perfect for a listing. Do you want me to do that?

Mechanical :

Mechanical Systems:

Powered by twin DAF 345R 120hp naturally aspirated diesel engines, this Weymouth 34 offers a solid mechanical foundation for refurbishment. The starboard engine has been run ashore within the last four months, while the port engine is currently seized, presenting a clear and honest project opportunity for an incoming owner. Power is transmitted via shafts to three-blade propellers, and fuel is supplied from two substantial steel tanks of approximately 1,100 litres each, ideal for extended-range cruising once recommissioned. When operational, the vessel is capable of a maximum cruising speed of around 16 knots.

Electrical Systems:

The electrical system comprises four 12-volt batteries (two engine start and two domestic), with charging via engine alternators and 240v shore power, including a ring main and battery charger, providing a practical base to update or enhance as part of the refit.
